Terms of Service
Last updated October 11, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and GatherSolo ("we") for using the GatherSolo app on the web, Android or iPhone. You are asked to accept them before you can use your account, and again when they change in a way that matters. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
The short version (the full terms below are what count):
- You are responsible for everything you say, show, write and share on GatherSolo: in gatherings and calls, in messages, chat and activities, and on your profile.
- No objectionable or illegal content or behaviour. We have no tolerance for it.
- Breaking these terms can get your content removed and your account suspended or banned for good, without a refund.
- Report anything wrong to us, and block anyone you do not want to hear from.
Your account
You must be 18 or older. Give a real email address, keep your sign-in to yourself, and tell us at support@gathersolo.com if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
Membership and billing
- Joining calls, signing up for gatherings and running your own need a membership. You can sign in, look around and read your messages without one.
- Plans are $12 a month, $34 every 3 months, or $110 a year, plus any sales tax. Prices may change; we will tell you before a change applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
- Free trial: your first membership starts with 14 days free. Your payment method is taken at the start and charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
- Renewal: a membership renews automatically at the end of each period and is charged to your payment method until you cancel.
- Cancelling: cancel any time under Membership in the account menu. Your membership then runs to the end of the period you paid for and is not renewed.
- Refunds: payments are not refunded for part of a period, except where the law requires or at our discretion.
- If a payment fails we will retry it for a while; if it still fails, your membership ends.
- Payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's terms.
Your responsibility for what you say and share
You alone are responsible for your content and your conduct on GatherSolo: what you say or show in gatherings and calls (including on camera and by screen or sound sharing), what you write in messages, chat, forms, notes and activities, what you upload, and what is on your profile. Other members are responsible for theirs. Hosts are also responsible for how they run their gatherings (see Hosts below).
We do not watch calls live or read every message before it is sent, and we do not endorse anything members say or share. We are not responsible for members' content or behaviour, though we act on what is reported to us and on what we find.
What is not allowed
GatherSolo is a community, and we have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive members. Do not say, show, write, upload or share, or use GatherSolo to:
- harass, threaten, bully, stalk, intimidate or demean anyone, or encourage others to;
- express hatred of, or attack, people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or similar characteristics;
- show or describe sexual content or nudity, or sexualise anyone; anything sexual involving a minor is reported to the authorities;
- threaten or glorify violence, promote terrorism or violent extremism, or encourage self-harm or suicide;
- do, plan or promote anything illegal, including fraud, scams, selling illegal goods or services, or sharing anything you do not have the right to share;
- record, photograph or screenshot other people in a call, or share what they said or showed, without their agreement;
- share someone else's private information without their permission;
- spam, impersonate anyone, mislead people about who you are, or try to get into accounts, data or parts of the service that are not yours;
- disrupt calls or the service, get round a block, removal or ban, or use GatherSolo to sell to or recruit members without the host's permission.
We decide what breaks these rules, and may act on content or behaviour that is harmful even if it is not listed here.
Reports, blocking and bans
- Report: tell us about anything that breaks these terms by messaging the admins from the account menu, or at support@gathersolo.com. We review reports promptly and act within 24 hours where the content breaks these terms.
- Block: you can block a member at any time; they can then no longer be your friend or contact you.
- Hosts may remove people from their gatherings and calls.
- What we may do: remove content; end someone's place in a call or gathering; suspend an account; or ban it permanently, and refuse a new one for the same person. We may do this without warning where the breach is serious, and a ban ends your membership without a refund.
- We may keep a record of content and reports when we act on them, and share it with the police or other authorities where the law requires, or where someone's safety is at risk.
- If you think we got it wrong, write to support@gathersolo.com.
What you share
You keep ownership of what you post, upload or say. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people you share it with, and handle it as needed to run GatherSolo. That permission ends when you delete it or your account, except for what our Privacy Policy says stays (messages in others' conversations, and transcripts you agreed to, under "Former member").
Hosts
Hosts run their own gatherings and are responsible for what happens in them, including what they show and share, keeping their gatherings within these terms, removing anyone who breaks them, and following any law that applies to what they offer. GatherSolo is not a party to arrangements between hosts and members.
The service
We work to keep GatherSolo running well, but it is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Calls depend on your connection and devices and may drop or degrade. We may change, add or remove features.
Limits on our responsibility
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for what members (including hosts) say, show, share or do, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law.
You agree to cover us for claims and costs that come from content you shared or from your breaking these terms, to the extent the law allows.
Ending
You can stop using GatherSolo and delete your account at any time from the account menu. We may end these terms or your access if you break them, or if we stop offering the service, in which case we will refund any prepaid time left.
Changes and law
If we change these terms we will update the date above. When a change matters, the app asks you to accept the new terms before you carry on; if you do not accept them, you can stop using GatherSolo and delete your account. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA.
